Clinics are scheduled on a month-to-month basis.
However, all clinics consist of the basic fundamentals. As a group,
students are instructed to go over their fundamentals and mental
aspects. Eventually, groups are broken down, and then drills are
incorporated to help them with their motion. Individually, students
are monitored to make sure that they are getting the proper mechanics
to assist them with their motion and delivery.
Clinics
instruction is as follows:
First, a demonstration of how and why I pitch the way I do. I will demonstrate all pitches, how I throw them, WHY I throw them the way I do, and what they are supposed to look like. In addition, I compare the way many instructors teach today and show the differences. This shows the good and bad of what is commonly taught, then I explain the differences.
I follow the demo up with a Q and A session for all attendees. I want to make sure EVERYONE understands how and why I am doing what I do.
Second, students are split into individual groups for a session. The size of the groups depends on the number of
students signed up, so, this can vary. Each session will last approx 1+ hour. When the
student pitchers are broken down into groups of similar age and/or ability, it makes it run much smoother and much easier as they are all working on the same things, regardless if they are beginners or top level.
Third
is the reinforcement stage to make sure that all of the motions
and delivery are in the proper sequence. Proper technique of certain
softball delivery pitches leads to a proper foundation in bringing
out the best in talent for any athlete.
